CAR PARK CLEANUP
Twelve volunteers from the Lawn Community Association and the Lawn Community Church put in about 30 person-hours one Monday morning sweeping, racking, pruning and chopping. There was a lot of laughter, and the coffee with hot cross buns were very welcome! We filled numerous green waste bags which South Swindon Parish Council swiftly removed for us. We hope local residents and car park users have noticed the difference.
There is more to do, so if you can help, please give us a ring on 01793 651806 and find out when the next effort will take place.

LCA CHAIR - Supporting Our Future Together
At our 2025 AGM, member were informed that we're yet to appoint a new Chair for The lawn Community Association. In light of this, the Trustees are exploring ways to expand our search beyond the usual eligibility criteria. Currently, the Chair must be an elected Trustee and a resident, Full Member, living within the 'LCA Area of Benefit'. To provide more flexibility in future recruitment, we're proposing a constitutional amendment to be voted on at the 2026 AGM.
Here's what's changing: A temporary exemption may be made to the residency rule just for the Chairs' role (Executive Officer Eligibility Clause (6.1) should no local candidate be found after thorough efforts. The appointed individual must live within reasonable travel distance, become an Associate Member, support the LCA values, and be able to attend meetings and events in person. Even if a local candidate comes forward before 2026, we believe this change will ensure stronger continuity for our leadership going forward.
We'd love to hear from you! And if you (or someone you know) might be interested in the role, please contact the LCA Secretary using the usual channels. Let's keep growing together - stronger, connected and community-led.
